Police Need Help in Locating Missing Student from Albany

The Dougherty County Police Office is seeking your help in locating a missing 17 year-old student from Albany, Georgia. Vernita Shantel Allen was last seen on August 19th after leaving home with a friend. Her car was found abandoned the following day in Dekalb County. Police say that Ms. Allen’s friend, a “special education” student, returned home days later. Ms. Allen, however, has not been seen since.

Police and family believe she may be somewhere in the Atlanta area. Vernita Allen is 5’2’’ tall, 120 pounds with brown eyes, and a tattoo of a cupcake carved in her left arm. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Vernita Allen you are urged to contact your local police.

For further information, please contact Sergeant Clarence Huber at (404) 730-4148.  Sergeant Huber can also be reached on his digital pager at (404) 742-6798.
