A fugitive who eluded
authorities for four days is back behind bars in Fulton County. Quwan R.
Rogers escaped from the Fulton County Jail during the morning hours of
December 20th. Rogers, along with escapee Octavio Diaz managed to escape
from their cellblock, however, Diaz was captured a short time later. The
Fulton County Sheriff’s “Fugitive Unit” traced Rogers to Green County last
Sunday where he came close to capture. Rogers was eventually arrested in
Jackson, Tennessee on December 23rd after deputies tracked him to a local
hotel. He was incarcerated briefly in Tennessee, and waived extradition on
December 26th. Rogers was returned to Fulton County Jail the following day.
Quwan Rodgers now faces an escape charge in addition to five other charges
pending.
