Sheriff Barrett Announces Appointment of New Chief Jailer at Press Conference, Tuesday

Fulton County Sheriff Jacquelyn H. Barrett will formally introduce her new Chief Jailer at a press conference scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2003, at the Fulton County Jail. The press conference will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the jail “roll-call” room.

The new chief will assume the day-to-day operations at the jail beginning Wednesday, September 10th. At the press conference tomorrow, Sheriff Barrett will also discuss plans to enhance jail operations, including:
 

	10 hour shifts for sworn staff
	Use of retired deputies in jail operations
	Civilianizing several functions at the jail
	Continued staff training
