Eleventh and twelfth grade students at Northview high school were quick to
learn that seat belts save lives. That strong and encouraging message was
delivered last Thursday when uniformed deputies from the Fulton County
Sheriff’s Office came to their school to present “Buckle Up Georgia
Students” (B.U.G.S.); a fifty minute multi-media presentation designed to
educate seat belt use among teens.
The B.U.G.S. program, funded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, is
now entering its third year in local high schools. The program is taught
students in the Fulton County and Atlanta Public School systems. Students
attending the presentation receive a variety of buckle-up incentives,
including sports bottles, key chains, and educational material.
