The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has launched a winter coat drive for
those in need, as colder temperatures begin to fall. For many of Atlanta’s
homeless, the winter coats will definitely be put to great use. Fulton
County Sheriff Jacquelyn H. Barrett announced plans for the winter coat
drive at a recent meeting with staff. Deputies and other department
employees have been encouraged to contribute by bringing in any winter coats
they no longer have use for. Both adult and children sizes are being
collected. The Sheriff’s Office will continue the coat
drive through the Thanksgiving holiday. Drop-off locations have been
established at the courthouse downtown, and at the Fulton County Jail.
Residents of Fulton County who would also like to contribute winter coats to
this worthwhile cause may bring their coats to either of the drop-off
locations mentioned above.
