Jail Worker Carjacked After Inmate Release From Fulton County Jail

Police and Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect wanted for carjacking following his release this morning from the Fulton County Jail. The suspect, identified as Nathaniel Lee Stanley, was processed out of jail at 3:20 a.m. and is accused of carjacking an Atlanta pretrial employee in the jail parking lot just moment after his release.

Stanley was arrested on January 8, 2004 on charges of driving with a suspended license, expired tag and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act. He was released from jail this morning after the charges against him were dismissed in court.

According to the victim and witnesses, Stanley approached the employee in the jail parking lot, forced his way into her vehicle and began making threats. Both the driver and a passenger in the vehicle were able to escape unharmed.

Stanley is described as a white male, 6’4”, weighing 275 pounds with red hair and green eyes. He is driving a 1996 green Ford Explorer with Georgia Tag 5817AJA

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Nathaniel Stanley is urged to call police.
